Recent Filming in Bridgeport

Young American Heroes
Crews from Palace Production Center and Docere Palace Studios have begun shooting a public television special on 8-year-old Frederick Douglass, who left his film is part of a pilot program called "Young American Heroes," a collaboration between the two production studios, as well as Connecticut Public Television, the Fairfield University Graduate School of Education and other organizations.

Confessions of a Shopaholic
Based on the novel "Confessions of a Shopaholic" by Sophie Kinsella, this film, set to be released in 2009, filmed a several locations in Bridgeport in February, 2008.

The Six Wives of Henry Lefay
Tim Allen, Eric Christian Olsen, Jenna Elfman, and  Paz Vega star in this comedy about a grieving daughter tries to arrange her father's funeral, while putting up with all of his ex-wives. Filming in Bridgeport was done at a private residence and a local cemetery

"Old Dogs"
John Travolta  and Robin Williams are staring in the Disney comedy 'Old Dogs', directed by Walt Becker.  The two portray best friends and business partners whose lives are thrown into chaos by seven-year-old twins. Travolta's wife, Kelly Preston, and daughter, Ella Travolta, will also star in the movie, scenes from which were shot in Bridgeport in August 2007

"For One More Day"
Ellen Burstyn and Michael Imperioli Star in a made-for-TV movie based on the book by Mitch Albom.  The movie filmed in Connecticut in July and August 2007.  Shoots in Bridgeport included scenes at Harbor Yard, the little league field at GE, and on Fayerweather Terrace.

"Made for Each Other"
Danny and Christopher Masterson, Patrick Warburton, Bijou Phillips, Sam Levine and George Segal are starring in Made for Each Other, an independently financed comedy about infidelity shot in Bridgeport in August.

"Extreme Makeover Home Edition"
Gloria Brown and her family left a burnt and ravaged home at 285 Hollister Ave. last Wednesday. But a week later, they came back to a larger, blue home with a white picket fence surrounded by flowers. Plaques on two stone pillars flanking the driveway read "The Brown Family" and 285 Hollister Ave. The front porch light was on at the house that television and local volunteers built in one week on the ABC show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2"
In June and July, 2007, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, staring Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, and Blake Lively and directed by Sanaa Hamri filmed in various locations in Bridgeport, including the Playhouse on the Green, the Burroughs library, Black Rock School, and numerous street scenes. "Marker"
 The usual cast of workers, commuters and pedestrians downtown was replaced Tuesday by squealing tires, men with guns and Steven Seagal. Crowds gathered on State and Main streets to watch as crews filmed scenes for "Marker," an action movie starring Seagal slated for release next year.

De Niro's bridge to Bridgeport
Amid the boosterish rush of the just-wrapped Tribeca Film Festival, Robert De Niro was talking admiringly about Connecticut. The inveterate Gothamite has been helicoptering back and forth between the city and Bridgeport to shoot "What Just Happened?," on which he is both producer and star.

"Men on the Town"
O'Daniel Productions and American Spirit Wolf Productions use Cafe Roma and Murphy's Law, both on Fairfield Avenue, as well as the exterior of Bijou Square and  Seaside Park for scenes in the 20-minute film about single guys and their quest for love— a project the film's producers hope will lead to a hit TV series like "Sex and the City."

"What Just Happened?"
The Black Rock section of the city was host to actors Sean Penn and Robert De Niro. The two stars were filming a scene for director Barry Levinson's upcoming movie at the Showcase Cinemas in Bridgeport on Canfield Avenue. The film, which also stars Bruce Willis, is based on the Art Linson tell-all book of the same name about the inner workings of life in Hollywood. The film is scheduled to be released in 2008.
