Pequonnock Development Site


On November 20, 2006, the City of Bridgeport, Bridgeport Housing Authority and Bridgeport Economic Resource Center jointly issued a Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for the Pequonnock site, approximately 11 acres of land adjacent to I-95 and the city’s new 10,000 seat multi-purpose arena and 5,000 seat minor league baseball stadium. From the respondents to the RFQ, a short list of qualifying entities would be selected to respond to a subsequent Request for Proposals.

Five development groups responded to the RFQ.  On March 1, 2007, the City and the Housing Authority announced the short-listed finalists:

  • TDC Development and M Squared Development 

  • Harbor Yard Partners, which includes Black Rock Investors, Urban Equity Partners, and Urban Green Equities 

  • Canyon Johnson Urban Fund, Vornado Realty Trust, and Mid-City Urban

  •  Opus, The Richman Group and Archstone Smith

These four groups have been invited to participate in an RFP.  Responses to the RFP will be due on May 31; an announcement of the selected preferred development team will be made on or about June 30.  Only the short-listed finalists delineated above may respond to the RFP for the Pequonnock site.
